Purpose – identifies the new trends that are developing within coaching. Design/methodology/approach – based on survey of ten UK companies, discusses how companies are using coaching to train and develop employees. Quotes from representatives from the companies and draws out advice on how to use coaching effectively and how to embed it in the organization’s culture. Findings – identifies group coaching, fast-cycle coaching and co-coaching as being among the latest trends within coaching. Also identifies the evaluation of coaches as being a major challenge for companies. Highlights that embedding coaching within the organizational culture was the main trend identified in the survey. Originality/value – focuses on how to develop a coaching culture within the company, giving advice on how to achieve this.ISSN:1465-6523Reference: 35AN333
