Antonio Crupi is based at the Institute of Management, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy. He holds a PhD in Economics Statistics and Management. He holds a position as a post-doctoral researcher at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna-Italy. There, his research activities are especially focused on knowledge and technology transfer using different research setting such as European OI platforms and China, digital transformation and intellectual property strategies. Antonio’s work has been published in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences. Antonio is a Research Affiliate for the STIM consortium at the Institute of Manufacturing of the University of Cambridge.

Nicola Del Sarto is based at the Institute of Management, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy. He is a post-doctoral research fellow at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa. He received a PhD in Management of Innovation, sustainability and healthcare from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in 2019. Nicola’s research interests focus on small businesses and start-ups and support mechanisms such as incubators, accelerators and corporate accelerator programs. Moreover, he is investigating the processes of business creation under the open innovation paradigm. Nicola holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Pisa and a post-graduate master in Management, innovation and engineering of services from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. Nicola’s work has been published in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.

Alberto Di Minin is based at the Institute of Management, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy. Alberto Di Minin main research interests have to do with technological transfer and internationalization of R&D within large multinational organizations. In particular, he looks at various aspects of Intellectual Property Management. Alberto has a BA in Economics from Scuola Sant’Anna, an MS in Public Policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and he is a PhD student in City and Regional Planning at the University of California at Berkeley. Alberto is a Research Associate for the Berkeley Roundtable on the International Economy (BRIE).

Rob Phaal is based at the Department of Engineering, Cambridge University, Cambridge, UK. He joined the Center for Technology Management at the University of Cambridge in 1997. As Director of Research (STIM), he conducts research in the field of strategic technology and innovation management. Areas of interest include road mapping, the emergence of technology-based industry, technology evaluation, portfolio management and the development of practical management tools. He has a mechanical engineering background, a PhD in computational mechanics from Cambridge and industrial experience in technical consulting, contract research and software development at TWI, a leading UK research and technology organization.

Andrea Piccaluga is based at the Institute of Management, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy. He is the Professor of Innovation Management is the Director of the Institute of Management at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. He is currently vice-President of Netval, the Italian network of University Technology Transfer Offices. He holds a PhD from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and a master’s in Technology and Innovation Management from SPRU (University of Sussex, Brighton). He is an Associate editor of the R&D Management Journal. His research areas are R&D Management, knowledge transfer and university-industry collaborations.
