Measurement of groundedness and manipulation of perceived subjective social status

In study1 and 2,after answering the two items related to the groundedness, participants will be asked to what extent the figure represents their emotional state at that moment	This is the MacArthur Scale of Subjective Social Status. Participants were asked to imagine the 10-rung ladder shown and were randomly assigned to one of two conditions; for example, the low perceived subjective social status group was asked: “The rungs of the ladder represent social standing in a community. The very top represents the wealthiest people who have the most money, highest education, and most respected jobs”. Then, participants were asked: “Please consider how you differ in income, education, and job compared to the people at the very top/bottom. Where would you place yourself on this ladder relative to the people at the very top/bottom?”—which served as the manipulation check standard
