Material properties for the thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and viscoelastic polyurethane foam (VPF) tested in this study
| Material | Density (kg/m3) | Ultimate tensile strength (MPa) | Young's modulus (MPa) | Elongation at break (%) | Hardness (Shore A) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TPU | 1235 | 42 | 9.8 | 500 | 93 |
| VPF | 80 | 0.131 | 0.122-0.139 | 137-202 | – |

Note:
The TPU material is SpoolWorks FlexD green 2.85 mm diameter filament (E3D-Online, United Kingdom). The VPF is soft fire-retardant grade SunMate foam (Dynamic Systems, Inc., United States). Properties were attained from the respective manufacturers of each material
