The diagram begins with establishing a mentoring or coaching relationship with a young person. Two pathways follow. Mentoring processes are applied when direct skills and advice are needed, and the mentoring process is evaluated where needed, with mentors recognising their learning from the relationship, and both approaches acknowledged in the final evaluation. Coaching processes are used when the young person identifies transferable skills or existing knowledge, and the coaching process is evaluated to assess how it enhanced development and learning.Coaching–Mentoring Integrated Approach.
