A flowchart illustrating the wear prediction model for railway vehicles. The flowchart illustrates the wear prediction model for railway vehicles. The process begins with the vehicle dynamic model, which includes initial wheel and rail profiles, bogie design parameters, and track design parameters. These inputs feed into a multi-body model of the railway vehicle, which calculates global contact parameters. These parameters are then used to calculate local contact parameters, including slip and traction distribution inside the contact patch. The wear model analysis is performed next, followed by the smoothing and updating of the wheel profile. The output is a worn wheel profile, which can be fed back into the initial wheel and rail profiles for further analysis.
