Figure 3
A multi-panel line graph shows COVID-19 stringency index trends for Singapore and Hong Kong from 2020 to 2022.The multi-panel line graph titled “COVID-19: Stringency Index” contains two panels labeled “Singapore” and “Hong Kong”. The vertical axis represents the stringency index, scaled from 0 to 80 for the Singapore panel and from 0 to 60 for the Hong Kong panel with visible increments at 20-unit intervals. The horizontal axis displays dates from left to right labeled “01 January 2020”, “08 August 2020”, “24 February 2021”, “12 September 2021”, “31 March 2022”, and “31 December 2022”. At the top, the legend lists three entries: “Non-vaccinated”, shown with a red-colored solid line, “Vaccinated”, shown with a green-colored solid line, and “Weighted average of vaccinated and non-vaccinated”, shown with a blue-grey solid line. Panel A: Singapore. The red-colored solid line “Non-vaccinated” begins near 0 to 10 in early 2020, rises sharply to 80 during early 2020, then decreases to around 55 by mid 2020. From late 2020 through early 2021, the line remained near approximately 50. Around mid 2021, the values fluctuate between 50 and 60 before gradually declining to 40 by early 2022. After 31 March 2022, the values declined further to around 30 and then to 20 by late 2022. The green colored solid line “Vaccinated” and blue-grey solid line “Weighted average of vaccinated and non-vaccinated” begin around mid 2021, remaining close to the non-vaccinated trend but slightly lower. They fluctuate between 40 and 50 during late 2021 and early 2022, then decline to 20 by late 2022. Panel B: Hong Kong. The red-colored solid line “Non-vaccinated” begins near 10 to 20 in early 2020 and rises quickly to 50. Through mid 2020, the values fluctuated between 40 and 65. From late 2020 through early 2021, the index stabilised near 65 to 70. During mid 2021, the values gradually declined toward 55 before rising again to 65 by early 2022. Around 31 March 2022, the values dropped to 50. The green colored solid line “Vaccinated” and blue-grey solid line “Weighted average of vaccinated and non-vaccinated” appear during 2022 and follow similar patterns near 45 to 55 before gradually declining toward 40 by late 2022. The final values approach 10 near the end of 2022. Note: All numerical data values are approximated.
