The set of 4 scatter plots examines relationships between an outcome variable and selected socioeconomic and environmental indicators. The upper-left plot compares the outcome variable with carbon dioxide emissions measured in metric tons per capita and shows a negative trend. The upper-right plot compares the outcome variable with the Human Development Index on a scale from 0 to 1 and shows a positive trend. The lower-left plot compares the outcome variable with life expectancy in years and indicates a modest positive relationship. The lower-right plot compares the outcome variable with renewable energy consumption expressed as a percentage of total final energy consumption and also shows a positive relationship.
