A flowchart illustrating the stages of identifying and selecting literature for bibliometric analysis. The process begins with a search query involving terms like metaverse, virtual reality, VR, 3D, avatar, SDG, sustainable development goals, and SDGs. Records identified from the Web of Science Database total 350. Reports are excluded if they are not articles or not in English, resulting in 48 and 1 exclusions respectively. This leaves 301 full-texted articles for consideration. The final set of articles considered for bibliometric analysis is 301. The data analysis phase includes science mapping and performance analysis. Science mapping involves social network analysis, collaborative countries, and co-word analysis, using tools like Vosviewer, biblioshiny, and R. Performance analysis includes annual scientific production, top contributing authors, global cited documents, country scientific production, and the three field plot model, using tools like Ms-Excel, biblioshiny, and R.Flowchart demonstrating the procedure of identifying and selecting related literature for bibliometric analysis.
