A three-dimensional model defines the geometry, boundary conditions, and material properties of a gas insulated system.The model consists of a cylindrical enclosure with a central high voltage conductor passing through a conical spacer. The overall geometry measures 2 metres in height and 1 metre in diameter. The high voltage conductor has an electric potential of 320 kilovolts and a temperature of T 0 plus delta T equal to 340 kelvin. The grounded conductor has an electric potential of 0 kilovolts and a temperature T 0 of 300 kelvin. Sulfur hexafluoride surrounds the spacer and conductor. The sulfur hexafluoride conductivity depends on electric field magnitude, temperature, pressure, and relative humidity, while the spacer conductivity depends on electric field magnitude and temperature. The x, y, and z axes indicate the model orientation.
