Plate 5
A warehouse with stored used materials. The image shows two separate views from a warehouse. On the left, a warehouse interior with stacks of wooden building elements and materials. A green forklift is present, moving materials. On the right, a storage container interior filled with stacks of worn timber. The materials are organized but appear to be in a state of disuse.

Originating from structures in previous triennials, the material found in the Triennial's warehouse had been dismantled and stored on the basis that it might “come in handy” later. It included plywood sheets (left) and worn structural timber (right), buoys used in past floating installations, and industrial shelving systems. This material defied easy categorisation: it had neither been bought nor salvaged, and was not currently part of any established waste stream or reuse network. Source: Authors' own work (2023)
