Specially designed to withstand the harsh conditions encountered in exposed outdoor locations, the SOSS invisible hinge is used in all Multipulse cabinet systems. In compliance with EMC regulations the RF emissions are significantly reduced due to the SOSS hinge being located completely within the enclosure allowing uninterrupted seal contact.

A further advantage claimed of the concealed positioning of the hinge in this application is that it allows room for installation of a radio transmission and inhibiting coil to give electromagnetic conformity; in the case of protruding hinges this can be bridged. Additionally, any external protrusion acts as an aerial.

The hinges consist of two die-cast bodies, made from zinc plated Mazak alloy, joined together with stainless steel links and pins. According to NV Tools, this construction makes them extremely strong and compact but highly flexible, with a small turning distance requiring very little space to open them to a full 180 degrees.
