are the recipients of the Journal's Outstanding Paper Award for Excellence for their paper

"Parameters affecting long-term performance of painted galvanised steels"which appeared in Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials, Vol. 48 No. 3,2001

Paula Puomi is currently working as an R&D Liaison Officer at Lahti Polytechnic, but during publication of the article she was based as a research scientist at Turku Technology Centre, Turku, Finland. Her field of expertise is pretreatment of metal coatings and coil coating, especially adhesion and corrosion phenomena at metal/paint interfaces.

Heidi M. Fagerholm is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physical Chemistry, Åbo Akademi University, Åbo, Finland and her area of expertise is surface science and ESCA spectroscopy. She is also managing director of Top Analytica Ltd, a contract research laboratory, providing surface analytical services.

Anu Sopanen is a testing development engineer at Rautaruukki Steel, Strip Products, Hämeenlinna, Finland.
