Sumitomo Metals signs technical cooperation agreement with Xingcheng Special Steel

Japan's Sumitomo Metals recently signed an agreement on comprehensive technical cooperation with Xingcheng Special Steel, a private company located in Eastern China's Jiangsu Province.

Under the agreement, the Japanese company will provide Xingcheng Special Steel with technology for the production of special steel bars and wire rods used in automobile manufacturing, reported Zhonghua Shangwu Wang. Sumitomo Metals will also help its Chinese partner set up a system for supplying high-quality special steel products for Japanese automobile manufacturers. The two companies also agreed to conduct a feasibility study for introducing Sumitomo Metals' deep processing technology for steel bars and wire rods to China.

In order to ensure effective implementation of the technical cooperation agreement, Xingcheng Special Steel plans to send staff to Japan to receive training from Sumitomo Metals.
