Leading international engineering firm adopts turnkey approach

Keywords: Engineering, Management

Calling all engineers! How good are your management skills or the skills of your manager? Turnkey Learning has come up with a new management training and development approach that allows all engineers to bring themselves up to a basic national level of management competence, from only £35 for an introductory module (Plate 1).

Responding to a need to put an effective and cost-effective management development program in place, PG Drives Technology – with facilities in Dorset, California, Taipei and Australia – has turned to Turnkey for the solution. Larry Anthony of PG Drives Technology came across Turnkey whilst trawling around the Web for some inspiration, and was immediately impressed.

"Turnkey's prices were reasonable and within my budget, and their modules provide a sensible balance between theory and activity-based learning that fit our preferred mentor/coaching based development training. Our need for basic management, passion, vision, and succession planning was closely matched by the content of Turnkey's learning modules. Thanks to our previous development activities, we have a team that recognizes the need for continuing improvement. To capitalize on that I now need managers who can manage resources, have the vision to see what the future could, be, and the passion to make it happen. Clearly, if this is to be sustained then we also need to be developing the 'next generation' of managers, and the Turnkey approach seems to be able to deliver just that."

Tim Gallimore of Turnkey Learning, said: "We're delighted that PG Drives Technology has chosen the Turnkey approach for its management development program. We offer a unique approach to learning, whereby the individual is in control and can learn at their own pace and assess their own progress.

"With half of the UK's managers not receiving any training and development at all, our packages have been designed to increase access to training and development and bring the UK's management population up to a basic standard of competence, from just £35 for an introductory module."

PG Drives Technology joins the likes of Merck Sharp and Dohme Pharmaceuticals, Lloyds Pharmacy, Queens Medical Centre Hospital Trust, Capital One, Carlton Communications and PC World, all of whom are adopting some of the Turnkey approach or learning content.

Turnkey Learning can also tailor solutions for organizations of all shapes and sizes, no matter how many employees or how tight the budget is.
