Within the next six months the first large‐scale production of titanium by the reduction of titanium tetrachloride with sodium will be in operation in the North of England. The plant is being erected by I.C.I., who state that full capacity will reach 1,500 tons annually. Although this may seem small compared with the announced intentions of the American makers, it is not much less than the amount of titanium sponge actually produced in America last year (2,250 short tons).
