Handling highly corrosive pickling liquors

The first continuous aluminising line for mild steel in this country has been installed at the Pontardulais, Glamorgan, works of Coated Metals Ltd. This company have been operating for some years a batch plant producing aluminised sheet, and have now increased their production capacity by acquiring additional premises and laying down the new line, which can handle cold‐rolled mild‐steel strip of up to 48 in. maximum width and 26–14 gauge thickness at speeds up to 32 ft/min. It has been designed and installed by the Kestner Evaporator & Engineering Co. Ltd.
