The northernmost pipeline in the world. Surveys have been completed for a gas pipeline beyond the Arctic Circle in Siberia, which will be one of the most complex of all Soviet construction projects in 1965. The pipeline will run for 397½ miles through the permafrost zone abounding in marshes. The temperature there is below zero C for 250 days in the year.
