A.P.V.‐Mitchell of Croydon, Surrey, have recently completed the construction of a solvent dehydration column some 180ft high and with an internal diameter of approximately 10ft for Foster Wheeler. The column, which cost about £280,000, has been erected at the Wilton Works of Petrochemicals Division of I.C.I. It is the first column of this type to be constructed in the United Kingdom and, it is believed, anywhere in the world.
