A low‐cost monitoring and control system installed for Freight Rover's Sherpa van body line at Common Lane, Birmingham, operates at comparatively low data transmission speeds, for capital cost‐saving purposes, and is claimed to be a viable proposition for many metal pretreatment lines in general industry. Developed by BL Technology Ltd. and marketed world‐wide by Pyrene Chemical Services Ltd, under the terms of a recently signed agreement, the system is highly flexible and can be adapted to suit most user requirements.
