The future of lead. The current scene and future prospects for lead will be discussed at the Ninth International Lead Conference to be held at Goslar, Germany FR from 19–22 October 1986. The keynote speaker will be Heinz Schimmelbusch, Metallgesellschaft, Germany FR, who will review the major structural changes taking place in the world of metals and their impact on lead. Vital questions on primary and secondary lead production (and their respective rules in the supply equation) will be posed and answered by Lothar Leder (Preussag, Germany FR), Tony Wallbank (Billiton Metals and Ores International, Netherlands) and David Prengaman (RSR Corporation, United States). The position of lead in the year 2000 — decline or rebirth — will be examined by Uwe Harms (Institute for Research on Technological Development, Germany FR).
