Japan's ambitious bridge project:K‐White and Coating Systems Available to Purchase

Japan consists mainly of four large islands. They are, from north to south, Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu. In 1988 Honshu and Hokkaido were connected by the Seikan undersea tunnel, while Honshu and Shikoku were connected by the Great Seto Bridge. Together with the Honshu‐Kyushu linkage, which had been established since the 1940s, the four main islands of the Japanese archipelago were connected by railways and expressways. This article describes the Honshu‐Shikoku Bridge Project, including the Great Seto Bridge and the special coating technology used in the project.
