Vinyl Coatings. The use of vinyl copolymer resins in paint coatings has expanded during recent years and in the marine field an all‐vinyl system has given excellent results on ships' bottoms. The system consists of a thin coat of wash primer, and multiple coats of a vinyl primer to give a dry film thickness of 6 to 7 mils, followed by multiple coats of vinyl anti‐fouling to give a dry film thickness of 3 to 4 mils—the total dry film thickness therefore being about 10 mils.
