GERMANY Corrosion and acid engineering. The article contains a description of the problems and the industrialisation of modern acid engineering. Acid engineering is engaged in the protection against corrosion and acids and the construction of acid‐proof installations and buildings. A classification of the characteristic methods of concrete and steel working presents an introductory survey. A number of materials as well as raw, and auxiliary, materials and their important physical datas are tabulated. The importance of protective covers is pointed out. Special attention is called to sources of error. Two new auxiliary materials, Corroplast N and H, are gaining increasing application in modern acid engineering.
