EUROPEAN FEDERATION'S PROGRESS. SATISFACTORY development of the European Federation of Corrosion during 1957 is reported in the annual report for that year, just published. At the time of its formation in 1955, the Federation, which is an association of European technical and scientific societies concerned with research on corrosion and the protection of structural materials, then consisted of 32 societies from 9 countries; by the end of 1957, the number of members had increased to 48 societies from 15 countries.
