Research by such bodies as the D.S.I.R. and by industrial groups or individual firms has grown enormously since the war, so that today we are more corrosion conscious than ever before. In the midst of this it is surprising to read of hesitancy over comparatively simple problems bearing on long‐term protection under abnormally severe conditions, of pipeline, sewage plant, roof members in chemical works, dye houses, tanneries, breweries and the like. Many simple facts are lost sight of and are swamped by complex conjecture and speculation.
