London Transport spends over £15 million a year on stores and materials, not the least important of which are paints for their vehicles, buildings, bridges and other structures. Investigations by their chemists have made it possible to lengthen the repainting period for buses to once every four years. The paints section is thus an important part of the new research laboratories at Chiswick.
