This review of corrosion problems in domestic building mainly concerns the behaviour of non‐ferrous metals in various environments. In this second part vapour barriers are considered with reference to metal roof underlays, damp‐proof coursings and flashings. Some problems in domestic plumbing are mentioned briefly where lack of appreciation of the corrosive conditions or bad practice in erection has led to premature failure. The weight losses of commercial‐purity and copper‐bearing aluminium alloy embedded in a variety of building mortars are given.
