Explosions Some five years ago a serious explosion took place from a vertical boiler in Middlesbrough with fatal injury to personnel. A month later, a similar explosion occurred in Aberdeen, again with fatal consequences. The circumstances in connection with these explosions were investigated by the Ministry of Transport and several facts came to light:
