Stainless-steel connectors

Keywords Connectors, High temperature,Steel, TEC

Enfield-based manufacturer TEC Electrical Components has introduced a new range of stainless-steel circular connectors which are ideal for use on equipment likely to be subjected to high temperatures, steep temperature gradients or corrosive environments.

Available with up to 128 high-density contacts in nine different shell sizes, the connectors can be supplied in all popular military-standard configurations, including MIL-C-38999,MIL-C-5015, PT, PTSE and CPT. All types can be specified with EMI-filtered contacts, if required.

Advanced engineering polymers and fluorosilicone rubber are used for the connectors' insulator materials, and contacts are made from gold-plated copper alloy. Current and voltage ratings range from 3 to 100A and 550 to 1250V, respectively.

Complete environmental protection is claimed by means of peripheral shell seals, individual contact seals and multiple-rise grommet seals.

According to TEC, the connectors' high corrosion resistance and ability to operate in ambient temperatures as high as 225°C make them particularly well suited to shipborne and engine-mounting applications, while their overall ruggedness enables them to withstand the repeated mating cycles associated with test-rig applications.
