Oxazolidine manufacturer Industrial Copolymers Limited (ICL) has launched Incozol NC a non-crystallising bis-oxazolidine latent hardener for use in one or two component polyurethane coatings (Plate 2).
The product has been specifically developed to remain liquid in storage, eliminating the need for heating prior to use even after storage at just 10°C for two years. Promoting fast through-cure without carbon dioxide gassing, Incozol NC has been developed utilising the latest oxazolidine technology to eliminate surface defects such as pin-holing, downglossing and bubbling from polyurethane formulations. It may be used as a di- or tetra-functional curing agent to enable properties of the formulation to be varied to suit individual applications.
Plate 2 Incozol NC remains liquid at room temperature, even after storage at 0-10°C for two years
Typical applications of Incozol NC include moisture triggered polyurethane waterproofing coatings such as liquid roofing systems and tank linings, as well as deck and construction sealants, clear, anti-shatter coatings for glass or coatings for the protection of masonry and concrete.
Other products in the Incozol series include Incozol 2 a mono-oxazolidine moisture scavenger,Incozol LV a bis-oxazolidine reactive diluent for use in the production of low VOC polyurethane coatings, and Incozol 4 a bis-oxazolidine curing agent in applications such as polyurethane floor and wall coatings and anti-corrosive top coats.
