Pioneering alloy plating specialists, Advanced Surface Treatments Ltd (AST) of Coventry, have a new quality manager for their Zinic Division Steve Hubbard.
Steve takes over the role at a time when AST are introducing new services and products, including a high corrosion resistance zinc-nickel process and a barrel system to enable mass plating of small items on both their tin-zinc and zinc-nickel lines. He says:"Our new services are being incorporated within our existing quality processes, which include QS 9000 accreditation. Quality is an important issue in everything we do at AST and plays a key part in the implementation of any new service."
He began his career with Surface Technology plc before moving to Midas Metal Finishes Ltd where he worked on various projects before moving into the quality department and spending two years working closely with their quality manager to implement their quality system. He joined AST in 1994 and was promoted to supervisor when the Zinic Division opened on the AST Eden Street works in 1997 and was appointed quality manager at the Zinic Division to succeed John Comer who became the company's works manager.
