Major contract wins for Britannia

One of the country's leading independent specialist heat exchanger manufacturers, Britannia Heat Transfer, has recently won two prestigious contracts worth around »420,000.

The Coleshill-based company has been awarded a »250,000 contract by First Hydro Company, to supply generator motor coolers for the Dinorwig Power Station in North Wales, one of the largest power generation plants in Europe.

Rolls-Royce Nuclear Engineering Services at Gateshead has also awarded the company a »170,000 order to supply eight stainless steel effluent monitoring tanks.

Britannia recently patented a heat exchanger tube extended surface technology, which for the first time enables cost-effective manufacturing of heat exchanger tubes from exotic metals.

These materials are required within the chemical processing, petroleum refinement, offshore and power generation industries to combat the corrosive conditions experienced.

The company has also recently invested in new 50,000sq ft purpose-designed premises.
