Gagemark Limited has now introduced its new Tornado wet-abrasive blast-cleaning equipment for the industrial preparation of steel to Sa 2ø/Sa 3 levels of finish (Plate 7).

Plate 7Tornado, the advanced wet-abrasive steel cleaning system

Utilising Gagemark's patented System 2000 technology, Tornado has been designed in response to a number of major blasters' requirements for a wet-blast system utilising grit, sand and most other abrasives.

According to Gagemark in addition to the increasingly important benefits that wet-blasting offers to the steel cleaning market (up to 50 percent reduction of grit/sand used, better surface preparation and environmental/health & safety advantages), Tornado provides high cleaning speeds (9- 30m2/hour to Sa2ø),remote variable pressure and a simplicity of operation similar to dry blasting.

It is thought that steel blasting contractors are likely to find Tornado's simplicity of operation to be of particular interest; the fluid-bed technology ensures the continually smooth running of all abrasives whilst a conventional"choke" is provided to allow operators to quickly flush the blast lines at any time. A no-fuss wash-down cycle, without the need for any pumps, is also provided. The equipment is fully portable, with or without an optional steel frame.

Gagemark boasts over 11 years of innovation in the blast cleaning field; its equipment is presently in use in marinas, ship-yards, on oil rigs and in industrial installations around the world. The company offers on-site commissioning and training by technicians with years of experience in the industry.
