Plate separator

Bilogik, an Anglo-German operation set up to market the Bio-Chem range of products in the UK, has launched the Bio-Chem plate separator designed to prolong the service life of contaminated process baths and cleaning machines.

The stainless steel plate separator is reportedly both ecologically and economically efficient, ideal for cleaning and recycling contaminated fluids of all types.

By using the plate separator to remove contamination such as oils, solvents and solids, the service life of aqueous cleaning and degreasing baths, as well as cutter coolant emulsions, can, it is claimed, be considerably prolonged.

According to Bilogik, the plate separator also contributes to the protection of the environment and assists with legal requirements regarding waste management. The German parent company is certified by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance in line with the ISO 14001 standard and the Eco Management and Audit Scheme of the European Union.

During the cleaning of metal parts, oils and other solids are removed from the metal surface, contaminating the cleaning bath. These substances result in a decrease in the cleaning efficiency of the bath.

The plate separator is said to continuously remove contaminating substances from the cleaning bath, thus prolonging the service life of the cleaner and at the same time reducing the cost of waste disposal.

For the metal processing industry, cutter coolants are essential working materials, but the service life of water mixable cutter coolants is considerably reduced by the introduction of oils and solids.

The contaminated cutter coolant emulsion cannot deliver the required performance in cutting and shaping, but with the help of the plate separator these oils and solids are separated from the cutter coolant, the service life is said to be increased and the disposal costs minimised.

Custom-made models are available on request. The plate separator needs little space and, due to its novel construction, is simple to handle for both installation and occasional maintenance.
