Northern NDT leads the way with UKAS Accreditation

Northern NDT Services Ltd believes that it is one of the first companies in inspection and non-destructive testing to gain UKAS accreditation as a Type A Inspection Body. The accreditation follows on from the company's recent award of a Gold Medal for Safety from ROSPA and complements its ISO 9002 certification.
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is recognised by the DTI as the national body responsible for assessing and accrediting the competence of organisations in the fields of measurement, testing, inspection and the certification of systems, products and personnel. This comprehensive accreditation procedure involves UKAS evaluating not only the quality management systems which a company has in place but also the company's capability to perform inspection and testing in terms of its techniques and the competence of its personnel to carry out those techniques.
Northern NDT Services has been accredited as a Type A Inspection Body, a category which covers independent inspection organisations and guarantees that the company meets the stringent requirements of EN 45004 and the relevant requirements of the EN ISO 9000 series of standards.
