Water soluble purging materials are used widely in tube and pipe welding,where it is not practical or convenient to extract mechanical purging devices after welding.
In addition, Educational and Training establishments find the use of water soluble materials more convenient, so that they can make their own weld purge dams as and when required.
Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Limited has been able to reduce the cost of their water soluble purge material kits by nearly half, owing to the introduction of a new production method.
Argweld® purge film kits are almost half the cost of any other equivalent quantity of water soluble weld purge material.
Argweld® purge film is a water soluble plastic which dissolves down to molecular size in water, so all traces are removed from the pipe when it is washed out or hydrostatically tested after welding.
The film kits include two bottles of water soluble adhesive, 20 m2of film, a safety knife to cut the dams and a set of working instructions with guidance about purging procedures.
Trace element certificates are available to show that there are no halogens or any other harmful components in the product.
