The World's Fastest-Growing Paint Export Markets

Information Research (IRL) has recently published a new statistical study which highlights the best growth opportunities for paint exporters in The World's Fastest-Growing Paint Export Markets.
About half of these markets are demonstrating value growth which is trailing volume growth, while the other half are proving much more valuable in purely commercial terms, as seen from the chart (Figure 1).

It is very evident that some of these paint export markets have more than doubled in size since 2000, although the most rapid growth in both volume and value is to be found in places such as Albania, Moldova and Georgia. In some cases the markets for imported paints in these countries have tripled and even quadrupled in terms of demand, presenting a wealth of opportunity for major exporters.
Paint exports to Jordan offer a good picture of the main sources of paint around the world, chiefly Germany, Italy, UK, Turkey and within the Middle Eastern region the UAE and Saudi Arabia, which are two important centres for paint production. The USA and Brazil are more important sources of paint in Central and South America (Figure 2).

Terry Knowles, Business Manager at IRL and author of the statistical report said “Many of the fastest-growing export markets are to be found in Eastern Europe, particularly the CIS states, as well as in Central America,parts of Africa and the Middle East. Often these opportunities are in countries which do not attract foreign direct investment in paint production but are within reach of local production centres in major paint- consuming countries;occasionally paint export markets appear to be captured by long-distance transportation and of course for many islands paint imports are vital. This new statistical study offers a chance to enhance the understanding of paint trade by exposing the market strengths of different suppliers and the growing needs of the customers and provides a superb and unique insight into new business possibilities.”
