Sung Hyoung Precision adopts high temperature performance VICTREX^® Coatings for golf ball core mold

Sung Hyoung Precision, one of Korea’s leading golf ball production systems vendors, has adopted VICOTE Coatings, powder and liquid dispersions,based on VICTREX^® PEEK™ polymer as the coating solution for its golf ball core mold (Figure 1).

Previously, Sung Hyoung Precision had used fluoropolymers and metal plating materials for its mold coating applications. However, VICOTE Coatings excellent scratch and wear resistance has enabled them to extend the service life of the core mold more than six times, up from one month to six months, helping golf ball manufacturers extend the system replacement cycle of their golf ball manufacturing process significantly.

Unlike conventional fluoropolymers, the one-coat VICOTE Coatings system eliminates the need for primer and provides a thin single coating layer with excellent wear resistance and release performance, reducing the need for frequent coating maintenance and logistics costs.
