The Industrial Nucleonics Corporation's KET non‐destructive process for locating ‘invisible’ cracks in turbine blades depends on autoradiography to detect radioactive krypton 85 gas which is attracted to defects. But because the amount of radioactive activity in the defects is of such low density, film has to be exposed to radiation for long periods.
