A partnership between Hexcel Composites and British Aerospace Samlesbury has scooped a prestigious gold award in the British Aerospace Chairman's Awards for Innovation. The award ceremony was held recently in the Grande Arche, Paris La Défense, and was hosted by TV presenter Nick Ross.

Cliff Mackay, Hexcel's UK Matrix Operations Manager, and John Raven, BAe's Operations Team Leader, jointly collected the award on behalf of the team from British Aerospace Chairman, Sir Richard Evans. The award was made in recognition of Hexcel's work with BAe in establishing what is believed to be the first "Just In Time" delivery system for aerospace composite materials in the world.
