Packages to boost hardness tester performance

New software and hardware packages for the Mitutoyo range of micro-hardness or Vickers hardness testers are now available. IN2 Semi HT and IN2 Auto HT packages have been developed to save time in materials testing and during set-up with automatic indentation of specified plots. The packages will also provide more accurate analysis.

Both packages comprise 2GB hard drives, 17-inch monitor and keyboard, video rate capture system and a high performance camera. When linked to the hardness tester, measurements are taken on screen by four mouse-driven Filar lines. All results are displayed and evaluated on-screen. A 50 x 50mm travel stage with 0.001mm resolution is operated independently.

With the advanced IN2 Auto HT package, the hardness testers objective nose-piece and indenter, as well as the focus system are controlled automatically. All results and graphics are automatically displayed and dynamic auto focus steps down to 0.1.

Both packages can be retrofitted to existing Mitutoyo hardness tester or supplied as part of a new package specification.
