The VDI The Association of Engineers has opened a permanent office in Brussels. The VDI wants to extend its dialogue with the public and to foster communication with the political decision-makers. With the new office in Brussels, a platform has been established, to work much more Europe-oriented. President of the VDI is Prof. Dr-Ing. Hubertus Christ. Dr JÎrg Niehoff will head up the office with Dr Manfred Raisch, as senior consultant.

Permanently representing the VDI in Brussels, their main focus will be to consult the various EU-institutions connected to engineering or technology. They will keep Germany's engineering community informed of policies regarding engineering being formulated in Brussels.
