UEF gains disc forging contract

BMW Rolls-Royce GmbH has awarded a five-year contract to supply disc forgings for its BRR710/715 engine types to UEF Aerospace.

The contract for the HP compressor discs was recently re-tendered globally. Lincoln-based UEF Aerospace, which has fulfilled the order for the past six years, regained it through price competitiveness, a proactive approach to value engineering and quality delivery and performance.

Commercial director Mark Bolton commented: "We are delighted that BMW Rolls-Royce sees us as an active partner not just a supplier. Through working closely together, we have generated an innovative design which provides significant reductions in billet weight."
