CML adds sheet detail facility

CML Group, part of Intelek plc, announces the acquisition of a sheet detail facility. This acquisition, we understand, completes the extensive range of sub-contracting capabilities CML offers and is a major step in CML's strategy of becoming a significant UK based aerostructures vendor.

The sheet detail facility has been trading since October 1999 from CML's new Twelve Quays site on the Wirral, conveniently located less than one mile away from CML's headquarters. The 20,000 square foot facility manufactures and heat treats a wide variety of sheet detail components, including skins and stringer sections.

Geoff Stewart, CML's managing director, comments: "Major aerospace OEMs are streamlining their supplier bases, focusing on those companies which can manage complete packages of work. This acquisition puts CML amongst the front-runners of first-tier suppliers, complementing our existing capabilities in precision machining, composites and treatments and enabling us to provide a complete service to the aerospace market and others with similarly demanding quality requirements."
