A Record Making British Light Aeroplane: The Popular Avian, in Its Latest Form, Has an All‐Metal Fuselage Constructed Throughout of Low Carbon Steel

THE “Avian” is now so well known that little need be written of its growth to popularity. The first experimental “Avian” fitted with an Armstrong‐Siddeley “Genet” engine made its appearance at the Lympne trials in 1926, where it created a very favourable impression owing to its high efficiency and neat appearance. Since that date it has been modified and improved in the light of experience gained, the latest model being the Mark IVM, which has a metal fuselage.
