Some Books Recently Received

Professor Milne‐Thomson's book is a valuable addition to the published literature on hydrodynamics. It is written primarily as a text‐book for use in universities and is based on lectures given by the author at the Royal Naval College. The treatment of the subject is very clear throughout and it can be thoroughly recommended to students and lecturers in mathematics ; many engineers will, however, find the methods used rather difficult to follow.
