An aircraft alighting‐gear in which nose and main ling elements 11, 12 are disposed on opposite of the centre of gravity of the aircraft so during alighting' the tail structure is maintained clear of the ground, the nose landing ent is retractable and may be positively ted in a plurality of positions in order that the n, the wheels 11, 12 are retractable on folding e.g., struts 15.
