THIS report summarizes the results of investigations made on various control units taken from German aircraft, and reveals the fact that a wide range of materials has been employed for both bellows and capsule types of units. Beryllium copper was used in one instrument only out of eleven examined, and also for Bourdon gauge tubing, but otherwise materials correspond closely with those used in British instruments, although such materials as K Monel sometimes used in Britain for capsules were not found.
