Torsion in Conical and Cylindrical Shells Intersected by Planes

STIFFENED conical and cylindrical shells discontinued by plane intersections not parallel to the plane of the applied torsional moment are quite frequently encountered in aircraft design. For example: cockpit enclosure trays and floors in fuselages, sloping frames and spars in wings, etc.
